IFYAC Strings

 Idaho Falls Youth Arts Centre presents IFYAC Strings.  Its mission is to nurture minds, inspire creativity and promote lifelong learning and appreciation for live music.  To value and experience music through musical activities which develop skills, sharing, self expression and personal growth. 

 

The program is geared toward 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students who want to explore and learn how to play the violin.  The goal is to introduce students to string performance and enhance their music education by providing hands on instruction with musicians.  Classes start September 2011 with weekly 1 hour group instruction and go through May 2012 (29 classes).  Two school concerts will be performed during the year and one community concert as well as a field trip to the Idaho Falls Youth Symphony spring concert.

Class Times;

2nd grade Wednesday 4pm to 5pm  Hillcrest High School Band Room

3rd grade Wednesday 5pm to 6pm Hillcrest High School Band Room

4th grade Thursday     5pm to 6pm  Hillcrest High School Band Room

 

Registration for the 2011-2012 season is now being accepted. Class size is limited early registration is encouraged. A limited number of scholarships are available early submission is encouraged deadline for scholarship applications is September 5, 2011.  For more information please contact  IFYAC at 403-5166.
